Happy Weekend! I am so looking forward to relaxing a little bit and hanging out in my sweatpants for extended periods of time. Before I get all cozy I wanted to share a few photos and details from Lucy’s first birthday party last month.
Instead of a giant themed blow-out like we did for Leo, I wanted to so something smaller with a few close friends. I have always loved Bronson Canyon park in Los Angeles, there is something a little magical and enchanted about the space and the trees there. Even with the constant car and foot traffic, you manage to feel like you are miles away from the city.
I reused a lot of decor from our wedding, if you were a guest you will recognize that the drink table was under our chuppah, the “toy box” was our card box and the farm table was our dessert table. The farm table is (we think) almost 100 years old, the legs screw into the top and are easily removed. I ordered new legs for the table to make it a coffee table (aka baby) height for Lucy’s birthday and assumed that I could just DIY them to screw in as well. Ha! Let’s just say that woodworking is best left to the experts… The table legs turned out great and now we can use the table at either height.I just love the little nook of the park where we set up, so secluded and pretty. Many of the quilts were made by friends. The lovely ladies at Clementine made these adorable little wildflower arrangements in vintage tea tins that I found on Etsy. The Village Bakery and Cafe delivered once again with awesome treats and tea sandwiches. Lucy may have had her first doughnut and she may have loved it.Lucy loved playing with all of her friends and her little tea set. I had a great time catching up with friends. The invite for the party included a felt flower for each parent and a felt floral crown for each little girl. Did you know that keeping a headband on a toddler is basically impossible? I do now. Crowns or no crowns, Erin at Hello Pinecone took the most wonderful photos of our tiny guests.
Look at this happy girl!
Have a lovely weekend!
